the show and GM's display with mobbed by
industry types wanting to see the car.

Chevrolet and the
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) announced
in late June that the 2010 Camaro will be the Official
Vehicle of the 2008 SEMA Show.
Lasting four days, 4-7
November, at the near two million square-foot Las Vegas
Convention Center, the SEMA Show is the World’s leading
and the World's largest automotive accessories trade
show.
Lots of different
Chevys have been the featured vehicle at SEMA but, of
all the GM products that get the hot rod hobby's juices
flowing, the Chevrolet Camaro has the greatest
popularity amongst a wide range of car nuts. Drag
racers, show-and-shine fans, die-cast collectors,
classic muscle car enthusiast, road racers, car-crazy
tweens not old enough to drive but who saw
"Transformers", autocrossers, drifters, even "monster
truck" racing fans all love Camaros.

Maybe we'll even see a Camaro
Convertible at SEMA like this concept
version of the 2011 Convertible that GM
North America President, Troy Clarke,
introduced at the Detroit Auto Show in '07.

“The influence that the
Camaro has had on the automotive industry and vehicle
personalization is undeniable,” said Peter MacGillivray,
SEMA's V.P. Communications.
“The Camaro brings technology and great design to
consumers early next year, we are looking forward to
bringing it to the Show in Las Vegas.” commented Ed
Peper, North America Vice President, Chevrolet.
Whoa...those guys are
masters of understatement, eh?
Produced by the
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), the SEMA
Show is the premier automotive accessories trade event
in the world. It serves the $38 billion automotive
specialty-equipment industry, whose products and
services enable car enthusiasts to personalize and
enhance their vehicles' appearance, performance,
comfort, convenience, safety and fun.
General Motors, through
several of its vehicle brands, is a longtime supporter
of the SEMA Show. It has exhibited there for the last 12
years. At SEMA in '08, GM joins a dozen of the world’s
leading automakers which exhibit at the event. Thousands
of display vehicles will be outfitted with performance
modifications, custom wheels and tires, mobile
electronics, appearance enhancements and may other
accessories. You can bet there will be
be a bunch
of 2010 Camaros, both stock and modified,
on display in GM's area--they call them "booths," but GM
takes up 20,000 square feet, hardly a "booth" by most
people's standards but room for plenty of Camaros--and
at other locations throughout the LVCC's 1,940,000
square feet and 14 miles of aisles.
Open exclusively to
automotive professionals, each year about 130,000 people
attend the SEMA Show. The event is widely covered by
both automotive press and the mainstream media from all
over the World. Thousands of media members will be there
including the staff of the Camaro Homepage.
This Winter and next
Spring, expect "all Camaro all the time" in the
enthusiast press and Internet.
Well Duh!
That's the way it
should be, right?
